Red King 6: In the Mind of Kalamon Ryce

After her warband captured the wizard Kalamon Ryce, Vivian was disappointed to find the wizard had lost his mind. Desperate to gain some insight into the Red King’s plans, she devised a method to enter his thoughts and try to pull out anything of use.

As she entered his thoughts, several nightmarish creatures coalesced nearby. Vivian cast Fleet Feet on herself, tried to blast one of the nearby nightmares with Elemental Bolt, and then started moving towards Kalamon’s remaining memories.

As she got closer, the shimmering memories jumped further away and more nightmares appeared. As they closed in, she managed to take one out with an Elemental Bolt and then took out a second with an Elemental Ball. Then the closest memory drifted away again staying out of reach.

As more nightmares closed in, Vivian cast Destructive Sphere to try to take out the closest few. When only one evaporated with her first casting, she tried again. Unfortunately, she fumbled her casting and conjured a raging inferno that immolated her dream form.

She awoke back to the real world, Kalamon drooling before her with his mind now completely wiped. She had hoped to find something useful in his remaining memories, but now that opportunity was gone.
