The Red King Beckons

Stefanie and I are getting ready to start our next Frostgrave campaign. This time we’ll be playing through the scenarios in The Red King. The campaign is divided into three acts, and I just about have everything ready for the first act, so we should be starting to play soon.

We are starting brand new wizards and warbands for this campaign. I’m going to be playing an elementalist, and Stefanie will be playing a necromancer. Those are both wizard types that we’ve never played before, so we’ll have new spells and strategies to try out as we face off against each other and the Red King’s servants.

Vivian Flameborn

I decided to play an elementalist for this campaign that I wrote for my Wednesday Wizards posts: Vivian Flameborn. I ended up deciding to make a few adjustments though. First, since the campaign’s focus is opposing demons, I decided that Leap would be a more fitting spell choice than Imp. Then, we aren’t planning to use the trap rules, so I replaced the Trap Expert in the original warband list with an Infantryman. I’m looking forward to playing a more aggressive wizard with a few options for attack spells.

Vladimir Darkbringer

In our previous two campaigns, Stefanie has had a tendency to end up with a good number of summoner and necromancer spells when finding scrolls and grimoires as random treasure. During those campaigns, we joked that she should be playing an evil wizard. This time, she decided to go with it and play a necromancer.
