Return to Gen Con

This August I’ll be attending my second Gen Con. My brother and I both went for the first time in 2012, and we’re very excited to be returning.

Just like last time, I’ll be getting in to Indianapolis on Wednesday and staying until Monday afternoon. We’ll also be staying at the Conrad again. It was great to be able to get to the convention center using the sky walks, and I also liked being close to the Circle Center mall for lunch at the food court.

Based on our experiences trying to use generic tickets two years ago, my brother and I decided to sign up for more events (especially games) in advance. We came up with a pretty full schedule after the event listing went live, but I was a second-or-so too late clicking the wish list submit button and we ended up missing out on most of the games that we had originally picked. I scrambled a bit and was able to get alternate times for some of them, but we completely missed out on a few. The ones that I was most disappointed about missing were the Corruption in Kryptgarden adventure for D&D and the Violet Vale for Numenera.

The schedule we ended up with is below. We’ve still got at least one game each day and will be playing Dragon Age, BattleTech Alpha Strike, Iron Kingdoms Unleased, and Dungeons & Dragons. I’ll be looking to fill open time in my schedule with pick up games, so let me know if you’d be interested in hanging out.
