Prismatic Art and Glimm

A few months ago, I backed the Prismatic Art Collection on Kickstarter. The collection is a project by Tracy Hurley and Daniel Solis to build a free library of art representing heroes of all backgrounds. I decided to help fund the kickstarter because I love the idea of a collection of freely available art aimed at role-playing games and I’m always happy to see fantasy artwork depicting a wider range of characters and cultures. The Prismatic Art website already has a number of illustrations that are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, and new pieces are being added as they are finished by the artists.

As part of my reward for helping fund the kickstarter, I was able to commission a piece of art by Brian Patterson. Brian is the author of d20monkey, a fantastic comic about a gaming group, and the illustrator for School Daze. I decided to get an illustration of Glimm, the gnome character this site is named after, and I think Brian did a great job bringing him to life. Like the other illustrations in the Prismatic Collection, Glimm’s picture is useable under a CC BY-SA license.
