While camping the night after climbing down from the plateau, Milanthis and Thia saw a ghostly figure in the distance, so Milanthis crept closer to investigate. As he got closer, he noticed that the ghost was a dwarven warrior just before it raised its axe and charged. Thankfully the rest of the party rushed to help the wizard in the vicious melee. As a strike sent the spirit on to its final rest, the group noticed that it was wearing an amulet similar to the one worn by the dead dwarf they had found in the caverns.
The following morning, the group searched the haunted area in hopes of finding clues to the ghost’s existence. They did manage to find an ornate axe featuring the same symbol as the amulets buried in the mud, but weren’t able to locate anything else.
They then walked along the river until dusk when they heard a sound like distant thunder. While making camp, Thia spotted fiery flashes in the distance and decided that the noise was not thunder, but instead something like a fight between mages.
